April 26, 1921 - June 16, 1945
The body of Staff Sergeant Elden T. Baughman, World War II victim, will arrive in Camden, Thursday morning over the Missouri Pacific lines. Sgt. Baughman died on June 16, 1945 of wounds received in action two days earlier. He is survived by his wife of Augusta, Ga., a son, a brother, William K. Baughman of Baytown, Texas; five sisters, Miss Billie Ann Baughman, Mrs. J. P. Carter, both of Bearden; Mrs. C. E. Carter of Stephens; Mrs. Billy Knowles of Monticello; and Mrs. A. G. Brian of Camden; and a grandmother, Mrs. Fanny Baughman of Memphis, Tenn. Funeral services will be held in the First Baptist Church of Bearden but final arrangements have not been completed. Burial will be in Moss Cemetery near Bearden. Proctor mortuary will be in charge. (Camden News - July 27, 1949)
