Mrs. Amy Bryant, aged 69 passed away at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Elzie Holmes at Eagle Mills at 2:30 a.m. Thursday after a long illness. Mrs. Bryant was a life long resident of Ouachita county and a member of the Harmony Grove Methodist church. She is survived by six sons, Henry and Sam L. Bryant of route 3, Camden, Arch, Walter, Wilmar and Clifford Bryant of Eagle Mills; and six daughters, Mrs. Elzie Holmes of Eagle Mills, Mrs. Pearl Jordan and Mrs. Bell House of Holly Springs, Mrs. Julia Holmes of Lakeside, Mrs. Myrtle Brazeale of Smackover, Mrs. Burley Stroope of Camden. Funeral services were held at Moss cemetery near Bearden at 2:30 p.m. today. Rev. Cagle of Thornton officiated. Bixler Funeral Home in charge. (Camden News - October 21, 1937)
