Thomas A. "T.C." Cox, age 76 of Monticello, passed away Sunday, February 2, 2020,
at Drew Memorial Hospital in Monticello. He was born December 7, 1943 in
Monticello, AR to the late Crowell G. Cox and Bertie Mae Funderburg Cox.
He was retired from the Drew County Sheriff's Office, a self-employed dirt
contractor and was a member of Pauline Missionary Baptist Church. T.C. loved his work but his greatest
love was his family. He also enjoyed coon hunting. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in
death by one brother, Willie Cox.
Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Gladys M. Akin Cox of Monticello; three sons, Gene Cox and wife
Judy of Vilonia, Chris Cox and wife Prissi of Monticello and Phillip Cox of Atlanta, GA; one daughter,
Shelly Rabb and husband Ward of Monticello; one sister, Bettie Watson of Monticello; one brother, Dolph
Hayes and wife Sharon of Pine Bluff; seven grandchildren, Miranda Reynolds and husband Mike, Kaycee
Rountree and husband Timothy, Haley Jackson and husband Skylar, Megan Dixon and husband Aaron,
Michael Rabb and wife Aly, Cole Cox and Chelsea Cox; three honorary grandchildren, Skyler Hart,
Carlton Talley and Delaney Ross; and fifteen great-grandchildren.
Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. Thursday, February 6, 2020 at Pauline Missionary Baptist Church with
burial to follow in Campground Cemetery. Visitation 6:00-8:00 p.m. Wednesday evening at the funeral
