Carolyn Jane Smith Ashcraft, age 77, of Warren, AR, died Tuesday, May 1, 2018, at Baptist Medical Center in Little Rock, AR. She was born October 28, 1940, in Sumpter, AR, a daughter of the late Hollis Guy Smith and Gracy Pauline Forrest Smith. Carolyn was a retired seamstress for Jack Winter and LaDonna Sportswear and a member of Martin's Chapel United Methodist Church. She was also preceded in death by her husband Alfred Arnold Ashcraft who died January 9, 2013, a brother Harold Smith and a sister Mary Jo Ashcraft.
Survivors are one son Wayne Ashcraft of Warren, AR. Three daughters Brenda Payne of Rye, AR, Bonnie Ashcraft of Warren, AR, and Sharon Oelsen of Hermitage, AR. One sister Earline Chapman of Forrest City, AR. Five grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.
Funeral service was 10:00 a.m. Friday, May 4, at Frazer's Chapel with Rev. Felton Savage officiating. Linda Barrett was organist. Burial was is in Adams-Singer Cemetery by Frazer's Funeral Home. Active pallbearers were Wesley Ashcraft, Brandon Oelsen, Josh Keller, Benny Braswell, Eddie Braswell, and Roger Braswell. Honorary pallbearers were Dr. Joe H. Wharton, Sonny Newton, Fred Newton, Jerry Castleberry, John W. Ashcraft, Charles Ashcraft, and Tommie Ashcraft.
