Leon H. Miles, age 92, of Mountain Home, Arkansas passed away Sunday, May 22, 2016 in Mountain Home. He was born November 28, 1923 in Miltonvale, Kansas to Enos and Ruby (Larrowe) Miles.
Mr. Miles married Mary Jesseca (Petersen) Miles June 22, 1952 in Herington, Kansas. He was a Research Engineer for Atlantic Richfield and Sinclair Oil Companies. With over a dozen patents to his name, he achieved international respect for his scientific contributions. He devoted himself to improving the lives of those with mental disabilities. He served in the United States Army during WWII at the Battles of Leyte and Okinawa.
Mr. Miles is survived by a son Curtis Leon Miles and wife Sharon of Wynnewood, Oklahoma, a daughter Gigi Sykes and husband Dale of Mountain Home, Arkansas, four grandchildren and three great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, a brother and a son Daniel Miles.
Memorial services will be 2:00 p.m. Friday, May 27, 2016, at Roller Funeral Home with Reverend Dr. Tad Rogers officiating. Interment will be in Baxter Memorial Gardens.
Memorial contributions may be made to Grace Abroad Ministries.
Arrangements are by Roller Funeral Home.
