A Memorial Service for Barbara Jean Lyon, 93, of Lakeview, AR will be at 3:00 P.M. February 18, 2012, at the Bull Shoals Presbyterian Church with Reverend Terry Hart officiating. Jean passed away at home January 19, 2012.
Jean was born April 1, 1918 at Chicago, IL to Hans and Gertrude Schultz Sett. She married William Lyon December 10, 1939, at Chicago, IL. Jean was a graduate of the University of Illinois. She had lived in Lakeview, AR for 37 years moving here from Western Springs, IL. Many will remember Jean and her sister Nancy Novak running around town. Jean loved to dance and she and Bill were members of the Twin Lakes Funtimer's Square Dance Club. Jean was an active member of the community and a dedicated member of the Bull Shoals Presbyterian Church. She was a Friend of the Bull Shoals Library, volunteered at the Bull Shoals Food Pantry and enjoyed playing bridge. Jean recently started the Silver Sneakers, Yoga Class.
Jean is survived by her son Kenneth Lyon (Bonnie) of Three Lakes, WI; son in law, Ron Schmitz (Marge) of Huntsville, AL; six grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, and many dear friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughter, Judith Schmitz, and sister, Nancy Novak.
Memorials may be made to the Bull Shoals Presbyterian Church. Arrangements are by the
