Reverend David Hughes King, 81, of Ozark, Arkansas, died October 1, 2020 at his home in Ozark. He was the Pastor of Union Assembly of God Church in Paris, Arkansas since 1973. He was a helicopter mechanic in the Military and retired in 1964 after serving 4 years. He was a local Parts Manager until he retired at age 62.
He was born June 17, 1939 in Yell County Arkansas to Reverend Otha Leon and Ruedean King. He was preceded in death by his loving wife JoAnn of 56 years, an infant son and his parents.
He is survived by his two daughters, Teresa Vanover of Clarksville, Arkansas and Shari Grigsby of Ozark and his son David Anthony King of Ozark; three brothers, Loyd Lee King of Benton City, Washington, Jerry Daniel King of Gore, Oklahoma and Clinton Dean King of Ozark; nine grandchildren; and nine great grandchildren.
Funeral service will be held Monday, October 5th at 2:00 PM at the First Assembly of God Church in Paris, Arkansas with Brother Nathan King, Brother J.D. King and Brother Wayne Thacker officiating. Burial with military honors will be at Cemetery Ridge under direction of Shaffer Funeral Home of Ozark.
Family visitation will be held from 2:00 until 4:00 PM Sunday, October 4, 2020 at Gardner Memorial Family Life Center, 104 South 5th Street in Ozark.

JoAnn King, 72 of Ozark, Arkansas died Saturday, June 22, 2019 in Heber Springs, Arkansas.
She was retired from Whirlpool in Fort Smith, Arkansas and a member of Union Assembly of God Church.

She was born December 25, 1946 in Franklin County, Arkansas to Bernard and Modine Tolbert Brown.

She was preceded in death by a sister, Delores Ann Sullivan and an infant son.

She is survived by her husband, David King of Ozark; two daughters, Teresa Vanover of Clarksville, Arkansas and Shari Grigsby of Ozark; a son, David Anthony King of Ozark; two sisters, Janie Campbell of Ozark and Gladys Hice of Magazine, Arkansas; two brothers, David Brown of Frankston, Texas and Leonard Brown of Collinsville, Alabama; nine grandchildren; and four great grandchildren.

Family will visit with friends from 6:00 until 8:00 PM Friday, June 28th at Shaffer Funeral Home, 2315 West Commercial St. in Ozark.

Funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM Saturday, June 29, 2019 at First Assembly of God Church in Paris with Brother Nathan King, Brother Wayne Thacker , and Brother JD King officiating and burial at Cemetery Ridge Cemetery under direction of Shaffer Funeral Home of Ozark.
