Mary Moneeta Johnston, 93, died Saturday, December 18, 2010 in Ozark.
She was born October 8, 1917 in Hunt, Arkansas to John B. and Viola Tennessee Sparks Henson.

She and William "Bill" Johnston were married on May 29, 1937, and during WWII she and her husband worked in a powder plant in Pryor, Oklahoma; then returned to the Ozark area where together they owned and operated Johnston Grocery and Johnston Chevrolet. She retired in 1971. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Ozark for many years.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Bill Johnston; a daughter, Shirley Haberer; a brother, Kenneth Henson; and a sister, Helen Yates.

She is survived by her son, Don Johnston and his wife Brenda, of Fayetteville, Arkansas; seven grandchildren, Brandon Haberer and wife Kara; Chad Haberer and wife Kevi; Patrick Haberer and wife Kayci, all of Ozark; Whitney Moore and husband Casey of Springdale; Morgan Johnston of Fayetteville; Wade Johnston of Durango, Colorado; and Shawn Armstrong of Eureka Springs. She left behind five great grandchildren Lauren, Caroline, Reagan and Tristan Haberer, and Hunter Moore; and son-in-law, Charles Otto Haberer.

Funeral service was at 10:00 A.M., Thursday, December 23rd, at First Baptist Church in Ozark with Reverend Ted Darling officiating, and burial at Highland Cemetery under the direction of Shaffer Funeral Home of Ozark.

Serving as pallbearers are Brandon, Patrick, and Otto Haberer, Wade Johnston, Shawn Armstrong, and Randy Vest.
