Robert Hector Sr., 76, of Garland City, passed away Saturday, Dec. 29, 2012, at Wadley Regional Medical Center in Texarkana, Texas. He was born Nov. 4, 1936, in the Lost Prairie community in Arkansas to John Hector and Daisy Page-Hector.
He is preceded in death by his parents, six sisters, two brothers, and two children.
Survivors include his wife, Dora Mae Hector of Garland City; two sons, Robert Hector Jr. and Preston LaMay, both of Garland City; four daughters, Linda Davis of Garland City, Alice Miller and Barbara Blair, both of Texarkana, Ark., and Brenda Reid of Texarkana, Texas; 13 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 5, at Mt. Grove Baptist Church in Texarkana, Ark., with Pastor Reginald G. Reid officiating. Burial will follow in Wynn Cemetery in Garland City, under the direction of A.O. Smith Funeral Home of Stamps.
Visitation will be from 12 noon-5 p.m. Friday, Jan. 4, at Smith Funeral Home in Stamps.
