Baden Powell Hoops was born February 8, 1950, in Star City, AR. He was a Licensed Practical Nurse, an 8-year veteran of the U. S. Navy, and a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Monroe, LA. He died January 26, 2011, in Monroe, LA. He was preceded in death by his stepfather, E. J. East. Survivors include his mother, Eula East; stepbrother, Donald (Joyce) East; stepsister Bobbie (Dan) Duryea; aunt, Genevieve Weeks; and a number of other relatives. Graveside services were held Saturday, January 29, 2011, with Kilpatrick Funeral Home of Monroe, LA, in charge of arrangements.
