Mr. Atwood M. Lott was called home to his heavenly father on October 9, 2014. Funeral services will be held at the Moss Cemetery in Bearden, Arkansas on Monday October 13th at 2:00 PM. Officiating will be Pastor Stephen Castleberry. Interment will be immediately following. Visitation will be at the Proctor Funeral Home in Camden, AR from 5:00-7:00 PM on Sunday October 12th. Family visitation will begin one hour prior at 4:00 PM.

Atwood was born in or near Blackshear, GA in Youmans Chapel Community, which was the family name of his Grandmother Kate Youmans Lott, who raised him from about the age of 6 years old. He was born on June 26, 1936. He served in the U.S. Army for 6 years at Ft. Sam Houston, TX, Ft. Gordon, GA, and Whittier, AK. After his military service he apprenticed as a Tool & Die Maker/Machinist in Valdosta, GA and later worked in Maintenance with various companies who enjoyed his talents and sense of humor.

While visiting his brother and father in Camden, AR he met and later married Jean Sparkman Pate, now deceased, and were married for 42 years during which he helped Jean raise three daughters, Deborah, Connie, and Denise in Bearden, AR.

Atwood was preceded in death by his wife Jean, his mother and father, Grandmother Kate Lott and his sister Queechy Ilene. He is survived by his three stepdaughters, Deborah Nance and husband Randy of Bearden, AR, Connie Castleberry and husband Gerald of Camden, AR, and Denise Thacker and husband Jim of Bryant, AR, his grandchildren and a numerous nieces and nephews. Also his brother Joe W. Lott and wife Sally of Bossier City, LA, and sister Rita Waite and husband Bob of Lakewood Ranch FL. Atwood has one son, Jeffery Marion Lott.
Atwood continued a close relationship during his life with his brother and friend Joe, his sister Rita, cousin Dixie Youmans, and his nephew Donnie Beckham.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the NW LA War Veterans Home, 3130 Arthur Ray Teague Parkway, Bossier City, LA 71112.
