August 10, 1895 - June 16, 1965
Karl Vincent Ripley, 69, a retired Rock Island Railroad conductor of Monroe, La., and a former resident of El Dorado, died in a Monroe hospital Wednesday at 2:30 a.m. Mr. Ripley was born in El Dorado Aug. 10, 1895, the son of Richard B. and Lizzie Ripley. He was a Methodist. Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Berdie French Ripley; a son, James M. Ripley, of Mt. Pleasant, Tex.; two daughters, Major Katherine Ripley, Salvation Army in Tulsa, Okla., and Mrs. Dale Robbins of El Dorado; a stepson, Marvin Conger of Akron, O.; three stepdaughters, Mrs. Virginia Morris of Wayne, Okla., Mrs. Tom Henderson of Tucson, Ariz., and Mrs. H. T. Nichols of Monroe; a brother, J. S. Ripley of El Dorado; a sister, Mrs. Jimmy Weathersby of Hope; 16 grandchildren; and one great grandchild. Funeral services will be held Friday at 2:30 p.m. in the chapel of Pratt Funeral Home. The family will be at the Dale Robbins home, 1300 North Quaker. (The El Dorado Times - June 16, 1965)
