MILLS, Atwell W. - Atwell W. Mills, aged 49 years, died at his home just east of Vaughn Thursday, November 24, 1927 following an illness of several months. He made his home with his sister, Mrs. John Kerr, on the old Mills homestead. He was the son of Mr. and Mrs. B.F. Mills who came here from Clarksville, Ark. in 1890 and located on the present homestead. The funeral services were conducted by F.A. Bradshaw with interment in the Centerton cemetery. The funeral was largely attended. He is survived by three brothers, Dick Mills of Vaughn; W.W. Mills of Stillwater, Oklahoma; and R.H. Mills of Tulsa, also by four sisters, Mrs. John Kerr of the home; Mrs. Cliff Bright of Osage Mills; Mrs. E.E. Hale of Phoenix, Ariz.; and Mrs. A.J. Clemons of Clarksville, Ark., all of whom were at the funeral excepting Mrs. E.E. Hale. Mr. Mills was born in Clarksville, Ark. in 1878. He was a member of the Centerton M.E. church for many years. He was unmarried.
