Floyd E. Blees, 91 of Malvern, AR, went to be with his heavenly father on March 14, 2013. He was born September 21, 1921 in Hot Spring County, AR near Malvern. He was predeceased by the love of his life Willie Jo Blees (Horton), his parents, Peter and Rachel Blees (Dillon), brothers Pete Blees, Albert Blees, Issac Blees, Matthew Blees, sisters Ethel Blees, Ann Blees, Mary Holley and several nieces and nephews.
Survivors include David and Deborah Blees, son and daughter-in-law of Bryant, AR and Paul and Donna Blees, son and daughter-in-law of Rogersville, MO, grandchildren Sarah and Rachel Blees of Rogersville, MO, Tina Herron of Mt. Pine, AR, Stacey Herron of Pearcy, AR and Kristen Herron of Malvern, AR, sister Ethel Robinson of Traskwood, AR brother Carl Blees of Hot Springs, AR and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral service will be at 10:00 am, Saturday, March 16, 2013 at Gross Funeral Home with Bro. Ron Hutson officiating. Burial will follow at Reed Cemetery near Story, AR. Pallbearers will be George Efurd, Raymond Ford, Rodney George, Bobby Horton, Larry Robinson and Glenn Robinson. Honorary pallbearers are Blaine Gibson and the members of First Free Will Baptist Church of Malvern.
Floyd was a member of the First Free Will Baptist Church of Malvern, lifetime member of the United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners of America and lifetime member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars. He served in the U.S. Navy aboard the USS Boreas in the South Pacific during World War II.
Floyd always put others first and enjoyed reading his Bible, gardening, hunting, fishing and being outdoors.
