ROGERS — Alvin "Al" Lee Pifer, 79, of Rogers died Oct. 25, 2007. He was born Oct. 17, 1928, in Imboden to Ira Earl and Ocrie Faye Swindle Pifer.

He worked as a field technician for J.I. Case Co. for 26 years, retiring in 1983. He moved to Northwest Arkansas in 1984 from Rockford, Ill. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He enjoyed bowling and golf.

He is preceded in death by three sisters and a brother.

Survivors include three daughters, Carolyn Sommer and Teri Mickelson of Pea Ridge and Kathy Gill of Rogers; two sons, Randy Pifer and wife Deborah of Fayetteville, and Larry Pifer and wife Cindy of Byron, Ill.; a brother, Loyd Pifer of Pea Ridge; a sister, Velma Rasmussen of Rochelle, Ill.; 12 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.

Services will be 3 p.m. today at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Rogers.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Callison-Lough Funeral Home in Rogers.

PEA RIDGE — Mary L. Pifer, age 87, passed away on Oct. 17, 2017, in Pea Ridge, Ark. She was born on March 8, 1930, in Attica, Ark., to John and Ada (Tyler) Johnson.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Alvin Lee Pifer; brothers J.R. Johnson, Lawson Johnson, Elmer Johnson; sisters Wilma Cambell, Nell Scheller, and Wanda Ratliff. She is survived by her sons, Randy and Debra Pifer of Bella Vista, Ark., Larry and Cindy of Byron, Ill.; daughters, Teri Mickelson and Melinda of Pea Ridge, Ark., Carolyn and Joe Nichols of Rogers, Ark., Kathy Gill of Bela Vista, Ark.; sister, Sue and Curt Bentley of Salt Lake City, Utah; 14 grandchildren and 33 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will held Friday, Oct. 20, 2017, 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Rollins Funeral Home Chapel in Rogers. Service will be held Saturday, Oct. 21, 2017, at 2 p.m. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Rogers, Ark. Burial will follow in the Rogers City Cemetery. Arrangements are under the care of Rollins Funeral Home of Rogers www.rollinsfuneral.com.
