Funeral Services for Ellowene "Sally" Marrs of Mountain Home, Arkansas, will be 11:00 am Wednesday, October 19, 2011, at Kirby Family Funeral Home Chapel, with Reverend Randy Ludwig officiating. Visitation will be from 4:00 pm until 6:00 pm, Tuesday, October 18, 2011 at the funeral home.
Sally died Wednesday, October 12, 2011, at Pine Lane Health Care, at the age of 92. She was born December 23, 1918 in Audubon, Iowa, the daughter of Edward A. and Paulina Reuss. She married George A. Marrs on October 19, 1960, at Audubon, Iowa and worked as a secretary for the Walldinger Corporation. Sally lived in Mountain Home, Arkansas since 1982, moving from Omaha, Nebraska. She was a member of Buford's Homemakers Extension and loved to square dance, crochet, handwork and reading.
She is survived by her daughter, Sheila Newlun of Tuttle, OK; 2 granddaughters, Regina Switzer and Dena Newlun: 3 great-grandchildren, Matthew and Lauren Switzer and Kelsey Newlun and niece, Elizabeth Rubel of Audubon, IA .
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, 2 sisters and 2 brothers.
Burial will be in the Kirby's Tucker Memorial Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or St. Jude's Hospital.
Arrangements are by Kirby & Family Funeral and Cremation Services.
