Margarette Law Hunter, age 74, of Camden died Monday at Ouachita County Hospital after a lengthy illness. Mrs. Hunter was born on January 21, 1936 in Branch, Arkansas, the daughter of Maggie Snow and William Law. Mrs. Hunter was a licensed practical nurse who served for more than 20 years at the Leisure Lodge Nursing Home on Old Magnolia Road and the Ouachita Valley Hospital, where she retired in 2001.

Mrs. Hunter is preceded in death by her husband, Willis L. Hunter, her grandson, Willis Reece Hunter, and her sister, Wanda Lee Johnson.

Mrs. Hunter is survived by three sons, Colonel Willis C. Hunter of Brunswick, Georgia, Reverend Larry Joe Hunter, of El Dorado, Arkansas, and Lieutenant Colonel Jerry Don Hunter, of Richmond, Virginia; two daughters, Marsha Ann Wiggins of Bakersfield, California, and Marjorie Lea Johnston of Camden; sisters, Joycie Mae Cole of Terre Alta, West Virginia, and Norma Sue Anderson of Goldsboro, North Carolina; grandchildren, Shannon Hill of Junction City, Todd Hunter of Little Rock, Valinda Szychowski of Brunswick, Georgia, Ashley Hopkins of Brunswick, Georgia, Margaret Mosby of Camden, and Melissa Joyner of Birmingham, Alabama; great-grandchildren, Summer Hunter, Jaden Hill, and D. J. Hill of Junction City, Tyler Hopkins and Tristan Hopkins of Brunswick, Georgia, Reese Elizabeth Szychowski of Brunswick, Georgia and Mackenzie Gail Hunter of Richmond, Virginia.

The family will receive friends at Proctor's Thursday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.

Services will be held at Proctor's on Friday at 10:00 a. m. under the direction of Reverend Larry Hunter. Burial will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery.
