Ralph Willard Whittaker, age 90, of Harrison, Arkansas passed away on Friday, December 9, 2011, at Harrison. Ralph was born on September 25, 1921, in Harmon, Oklahoma, the son of Wilbert and May (Wieden) Whittaker. Along with his parents, Ralph was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia Whittaker; his son, Dennis Whittaker; his sister, Marie Crawford; an infant sister, Lula May Whittaker; and an infant brother, Archie Whittaker.

Mr. Whittaker was of the Protestant faith. He married Patricia Ann York on October 9, 1948, and the celebrated 46 years together. He was a prior resident of Osage, Arkansas. He was a U.S. Navy veteran having serviced during World War II. He was a Tail Gunner serving on the USS Enterprise. Ralph was a crane operator with Bailey, Crouse, Reynolds and Williams Construction of Little
Rock, Arkansas.

Ralph is survived by his sons and daughter-in-law, Donald and Vicki Whittaker and Kevin Whittaker; his daughter and son-in-law, Donna and Mike Moore; three grandchildren, Hollie Whittaker, Eric Whittaker, and Kendra Duggan; three great-grandchildren, Jackson and Eden Whittaker and Brayden Duggan; and a host of other family and many dear friends.

Visitation was Sunday, December 11, 2011, at Roller-Christeson Funeral Home.

Funeral service was Monday, December 12, 2011, graveside at Walker Cemetery, with Rev. Kerry Liggett officiating.

Pallbearers were Buster Widner, Larry Wolfe, Eric Whittaker, Bryant McKinney, Cameron Fancher, Eugene Bell, Greg McCoy and Bobby Duggan.

Honorary pallbearers were the staff and residents of the Harrison Retirement Center, the staff of Hillcrest Nursing Home and Max Blevins.
