HINDSVILLE — Melvin Gerald Burks Jr., 32, of Hindsville died Jan. 4, 2006, at Huntsville. He was born Feb. 19, 1973, in Springdale to Melvin Gerald Burks Sr. and Belinda Gail Murrell Burks. He was a farm worker and enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was a longtime resident of the area.
Survivors include his wife, Misty Rose Burks of the home, to whom he was married Sept. 22, 1995; his parents of Springdale; one son, Joshua Thomas Burks of the home; two daughters, Tierra Bonnie Rose Burks and Amber Dawn Burks, both of the home; one sister, Kimberly Burnette of Springdale.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Sisco Chapel in Springdale with the Rev. Bill Williams officiating. Burial will be in Friendship Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. The family will be present from 6 to 8 p.m.
Pallbearers will be Bradley Smith, Homer Smith, Willie Blackston, Randy Smith, Melvin Murrell and Billy Joe Thompson.
Honorary pallbearers will be Jackie Burnett Sr., Mike Elwin, Martin Elwin, Curtis Thompson and Jackie Burnette Jr.
