Donald Eugene "Donnie" Coburn resident of McCrory passed away on Sunday, July 10, 2016 at his residence. He was 79 years of age.

Visitation will be Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. with funeral services at 2 p.m. on Thursday at the Thompson-Wilson McCrory Chapel. Interment will be in the Calvary Cemetery of the Gourdneck Community. Thompson-Wilson Funeral Directors of McCrory will be in charge of the arrangements.

Mr. Coburn was born on April 24, 1937 in Hot Springs, Arkansas. He was the son of the late Harry Coburn, Willa Mae Winfrey Coburn and John McElyea. Mr. Coburn attended North Little Rock School District and on May 14, 1977 he married the former Miss Betty Conway and was of the Baptist faith. He worked for White River Area on Aging for seven years and was also employed for many years as a self-employed construction worker who enjoyed painting houses and tearing things apart just to see if he could put them back together. Mr. Coburn also loved being outdoors, which involved hunting and fishing. You would also find him in the kitchen where he loved to cook. Although his greatest love was his family and spending time with them, he also loved reading his bible.

Along with his parents, Mr. Coburn is preceded in death by two sons, Frankie Coburn and Terry Dean Coburn, one daughter, Lois Gene Coburn, one brother, Jimmy Coburn, one sister, Sidney Gene Coburn, one granddaughter, Lisa Barnes and one great-grandson, Kurt Coburn.

Mr. Coburn is survived by his wife of 39 years, Betty Coburn of McCrory, Arkansas, two sons, Gary Don Coburn and wife Jessy of Prim, Arkansas, Charlie Coburn and wife Beckey of Prim, Arkansas, three daughters, Donna Marie Brown and husband Bucky of Prim, Arkansas, Shannon Rena Coburn of McCrory, Arkansas, Shelly Marie Morgan and husband James of Pensacola, Florida, two brothers, Danny McElyea of Grubbs, Arkansas, Bobby McElyea and wife Ella of Mayflower, Arkansas, three sisters, Lois Heathscott of Chicago, Illinois, Sue Porter and husband Wayne of Jerusalem, Arkansas, Peggy Jo Knight and husband Al of Grubbs, Arkansas, twelve grandchildren, eighteen great-grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren.

Active pallbearers will be Danny Gaskin, Ricky Gaskin, Adam Latch, Danny Knight, Glen Shoemaker, Jimmy Shoemaker, Herbie Shoemaker and Dennis Conway.
