Anna Lee Beavers West, age 85, passed away June 28, 2010 at Hillcrest Nursing Home in Harrison. She was born March 28, 1925 in Marion County, Arkansas, the daughter of Arthur L. and Edna (Toney) Humphrey, who preceded her in death. Also preceding her in death were husband Blain Beavers, brothers Lawrence Humphrey and Jim Humphrey and one sister, Laura Smith.
She is survived by two daughters, Sharon Wohlgemuth and husband Mike of Harrison, Francie Busbee and husband Alvin of Marshall, one son, Larry Paul Beavers of Harrison, six grandchildren: Crystal Turney of Marshall, Scott Turney and wife Jennifer of Marshall, Tim Wallace of Marshall, Jill Williams and husband Ronnie of Harrison, Lance Wohlgemuth and wife Cara of Harrison, Dedra Lair of Springfield, Mo.; eleven great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild; two sisters, Kathleen Knee of Marshall and Ruth Horton of Harrison, numerous nieces, nephews and a host of friends.
Anna was born in Marion County, Arkansas and grew up around the Rush area where her father worked in the mining business. She married and raised her children around the Marshall area, then later moved to Harrison. She was a member of the Church of Christ. Some of her family's fondest memories are of the Christmas dinners together and Anna's famous dressing, which was the best.
Services are 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, June 30 at Roller-Coffman Chapel in Marshall with Donald Ray Patterson officiating. Visitation will precede the service from 1:00 – 2:00 p.m. Burial is in Marshall Memorial Gardens by Roller-Coffman Funeral Home of Marshall.
Pallbearers are Scott Turney, Lance Wohlgemuth, Dedra Lair, Matthew Griffith, Michael Lair and Ronnie Williams. Honorary Pallbearers are the staff at Hillcrest Home and Lynn Mayo, P.A.
The family would like to especially thank Mary Layton and Elsie at Hillcrest Home.
