George Wayne Calico Sr., 60, of Springdale died Thursday, June 17, 2004, at his home. He was born March 6, 1944, in Tahlequah, Okla., to Dean Ross and Cuba Lillian George Calico.
Mr. Calico was a longtime Springdale resident. He was a self-employed drywall contractor, and enjoyed time with his family, the outdoors and singing with his grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Bill Calico.
Survivors include his spouse Mary of the home; a son, George Calico Jr. and wife Shelley of Pea Ridge; a daughter, Loretta Toon and husband Rick of Springdale; four brothers, Harold Calico of Farmington, Charles Calico, Jerry Calico and Earl Calico, all of Springdale; a sister, Pearla Calico Rogers of Lincoln; and four grandchildren, Dylan Toon, Devan Toon, Shiann Calico and George Calico III.
Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. today, June 22 at Friendship Cemetery with the Rev. Bill Williams officiating.
Honorary bearers will be Joe Bright, Vernon Leach, Jasper Spradling, Ronnie Stamps, Casey White, Marty White and Sylvester White.
Arrangements are by Sisco Chapel in Springdale.
