Alberta Sinquefield died Monday, Feb. 17 at Stuttgart Health and Rehabilitation Center where she was a resident. She was 101 years old.
"Ms. Sally," as she was affectionately called by her late husband, John "Bullet" Sinquefield, was born Jan. 9, 1902 in a community called "Eight Mile" near Newport, Ark. Her parents were James Madison Robertson and Nancy Jane Young Robertson.

She married John Allen Sinquefield on Jan. 19, 1931. She often said she was an "old maid" of 29. They had no children. The couple farmed cotton near Beedeville, Ark. for several years. Later both worked for the Beedeville Schools. He as a custodian and she in the cafeteria.

Alberta was a lifelong member of the Church of Christ having memberships in Beedeville, Clarendon and Stuttgart churches over the years. She loved singing hymns. She knew most of the hymn books by heart.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and three sisters, Bertha Smith, Emily Stratton and Willy Ballard.

She is survived by her nephews J.W. and Limon Smith of Clarendon and Franklin Stratton as well as numerous great-great-great nieces and nephews who all knew and loved her as "Aunt Dutch," a childhood nickname.

Funeral services were held at Beedeville Church of Christ today. Burial was at "Eight Mile" Cemetery.
