Mrs. Edna Louise Hood Taylor, resident of Beedeville, Arkansas and lifelong resident of Jackson County departed this life on Saturday, December 7, 2019 at the age of 93. She was born in Jackson County near Beedeville, Arkansas on October 30, 1926 and was the daughter of Clyde and Stella Mae Tribble Hood.

Ms. Louise was a longtime member of Calvary Baptist Church and in younger years loved to travel. She married Mr. Hiram Taylor where he planted huge vegetable gardens so that she could can vegetables for her family. He passed away on June 3, 1978. Ms. Louise was an excellent cook with her specialty being chicken and dumplings and homemade biscuits. But, you would catch her eating dessert before she would eat her meal. She was an expert at sewing and quilting for the public. Her favorite pastime would be watching Wheel of Fortune to see what Vanna would be wearing. Ms. Louise loved to read novels and has been known to read the Bible three times over the years even reading it once to her sister.

Ms. Louise is preceded in death by her parents, Clyde and Stella Hood, her husband, Hiram Taylor, one son, Roger Dale Taylor, one daughter, Debbie Lanois, two grandsons, Kevin Clees, Eric Taylor, one sister, Emogene Harris, and one niece, Georgia.

Ms. Louise is survived by her son, John Taylor and wife Diana of Beedeville, Arkansas, three daughters, Kathy Yearsley and husband Richard of Webster, Texas, Sharon Dixon of McCrory, Arkansas, Phyllis Mason and husband Ralph of Groves, Texas, ten grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren, six great-great grandchildren, and two nieces, Evelyn and Edna.

Those honored to serve as pallbearers will be Jason Froman, Bill Adams, Tim Bedwell, Bob Glover, Tony Scott and Tim Smith. Honorary pallbearers will be David Abney and Jim Mann.

Memorials may be made to the Disabled Veterans-Wounded Warrior Project.

Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, December 12th at Eight Mile Cemetery near Beedeville.

Friends may visit on Wednesday, December 11th between the hours of 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Thompson-Wilson McCrory Funeral Home Chapel.
