Barbara Kay Phillips, 59, of Prairie Grove, Ark., went to be with her Lord on Nov. 2, 2016, at Washington Regional Medical Center in Fayetteville, Ark. She was born May 13, 1957, in Poteau, Okla., the daughter of Allen and Lucrisha Francis McCray Latta.

She was strong in her faith and enjoyed being active in her church. She had a beautiful voice and shared her love for the Lord by singing in the New Hope Church Choir. She will be forever in our hearts.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Eddie Johnson.

She is survived by her husband, Onnie Phillips; three daughters, Rhonda Morgan and her husband Johnny of Lincoln, Ark., Crystal Contreras and her husband Nali of Prairie Grove, Jenny Smith and her husband Shannon of Centerton, Ark.; one son, Christopher Reed of Lincoln; one brother, Billy Gibson of Oklahoma; three sisters, Mae Ross of Fayetteville, Brinda Johnson of Poteau and Cathy. Her joy was being able to spend time with her eight grandchildren Jonathan, Natasha, Daniel, Carlos, Landen, Isabella, Destanee and Brooke. Her time spent with her five great-grandchildren was precious to her, as well as many others she considered her family.

Funeral service was held at 10 a.m. Monday, Nov. 7, 2016, at New Hope Church near Prairie Grove. Burial was in the Dutch Mills Cemetery and no graveside service was held.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the New Hope Church through Arvest Bank.
