Delmer Ray Matthews, 70, of Farmington, Ark., passed away Tuesday, July 4, 2017, at his home. He was born Nov. 4, 1946, in Prairie Grove, Ark., the son of Raymond Lacy and Kate Ethel (Alexander) Matthews.
He graduated from Prairie Grove High School in 1964, served in the National Guard and was a member of the Lincoln Riding Club. He was a member of the Summers Missionary Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by his wife, Barbara Ann Matthews; three daughters, Paula Smith and husband Donnie of Green Forest, Ark., Carlita Justus and husband Brett of Fayetteville, Ark., and Kelsey Matthews of Farmington; six grandchildren, Danuel Smith, Savannah Smith, Clayton Smith, Cedric Justus, Aubrey Justus and Lucy Justus.
Funeral service was held at 2 p.m. Saturday, July 8, 2017, at Summers Missionary Baptist Church in Summers, Ark. Burial was in the Dutch Mills Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Danuel Smith, Clayton Smith, Cedric Justus, David Payne, Lonnie Cantrell, Beetle Bailey and Ed Bailey.
