When Otto Schober Ruegger was born on April 3, 1872, in Monroe, Wisconsin, his father, Edward, was 35 and his mother, Sophia, was 29. He married Mattye Renick on September 15, 1912, in Arkansas. They had five children during their marriage. He died on November 16, 1955, in Waldenburg, Arkansas, at the age of 83, and was buried there.
