SPRINGDALE — Bob A. Walters, 74, of Springdale died June 3, 2000, at Northwest Medical Center in Springdale. He was born Sept. 23, 1925, in Whiting, Kan., to Harold E. and Lucy D. McKee Walters. He served in the Navy Air Force during World War II and retired as a lieutenant colonel from the Army Reserve in 1985. He attended Brigham Young University. He graduated from Arkansas State University with a bachelor of science degree in 1950 and earned a master's degree in 1952 from the University of Arkansas. He taught class and coached football and basketball at Springdale High School for four years, as well as coaching and serving as principal of Mountain Home High School for two years. He attended the Institute of Marketing at Southern Methodist University. He was an agent for First Pyramid Life Insurance Co., Great American Life Insurance and retired, after 20 years as an agent, from State Farm Insurance Co. in 1987. He was a past president of the Springdale Kiwanis Club where he was presented the George F. Hixson Award. He also served on the board of Spring Meadows Housing. He was an active member of the First Baptist Church in Springdale.

Survivors include his wife, Imogene "Jean" Walters of the home, to whom he was married in 1944; one son, Steve Walters of North Attleboro, Mass.; one daughter, Nancy Stone of North Little Rock; one brother, Jack Walters of Fayetteville; three grandchildren, Kirk Walters, Kasey Walters and John David Stone.

Services were June 6 at Sisco Funeral Chapel in Springdale with Charlie Foster officiating. Burial was in Bluff Cemetery.

SPRINGDALE — E. Imogene "Jean" Dearien Walters, 93, of Springdale, passed away on Feb. 19, 2018. She was born Feb. 23, 1924, in Mountain View, Ark. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bob A. Walters.

She is survived by her son, Steve Walters (Susan) of St. Augustine, Fla.; daughter, Nancy Stone (Jack) of North Little Rock; three grandchildren, Kirk (Anne) and Kasey (Jordan) Walters and John David (Heidi) Stone and six great-grandchildren.

She was a fine Christian lady who loved her family and friends deeply.

A celebration of life will be held Wednesday, Feb. 21 at 1 p.m. at Butterfield Trail Village performance hall.
