Dorothy received her GED in her forties and attended the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville in Food Service Management. She worked in the Blytheville, Arkansas School District for 26 years beginning as a cook and progressing as Manager of District 5 as Food Director. She loved to cook and feed people. To her that meant Love. She was famous for her great yeast rolls at every school where she served and with all her friends and family. Even at the end of her life, her favorite programs on TV were on the Cooking Channel. All of us were blessed in June 2006 when we had her as our Star for a family reunion attended by 69 family members. She loved greatly and was loved greatly. May her unselfish spirit guide all of us for the remaining of our lives. We will miss her tremendously. She was the heart of our family. We would like to thank our sister Teresa who looked after our Mama's well being these last trying years, the wonderful staff at Ave Maria Nursing Home and Crossroads Hospice. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Catholic Church of the Ascension or to Ave Maria Nursing Home, 2805 Charles Bryan Rd., Memphis, Tennessee 38134. Canal Funeral Directors.
