April 17, 1934 - November 23, 2020
Marvin L. French, 86 of Maumelle, passed from his earthly home and entered his heavenly home November 23, 2020 in the VA hospice care unit in Little Rock, AR.
He was born in Gibson County, TN to Hugh French & Leota Horner French. After losing both of his parents at a young age, he pushed himself to achieve anything he set his mind to, including learning to fly an airplane. He grandparents and a loving sister, Virginia, raised him.
He served his country by joining the Air Force, and later serving in the national guard. After his service, he came to Walnut Ridge and attended Southern Baptist College and worked part-time at Wilcoxson's . While working there, he bought popcorn at the Ben Franklin's and met his future bride, Loretta Penn. They were married in 1958 and celebrated 64 years together. Marvin worked for the FAA as a radar maintenance technician and as a construction supervisor for the AR Department of Correction. Marvin was of Baptist belief and was an ordained minister. He was a mason and a shriner.
He was preceded in death by his parents; 3 brothers; a sister; and his son, Robert Hugh French.
He is survived by his wife, Loretta Penn French of the home; daughter, Jana; & son, Bradley all of Maumelle; and granddaughter, Ariana.
There will be a privately held graveside service by the family at Dry Creek Cemetery under direction of House-Gregg Funeral Home of Walnut Ridge & Lynn, AR.
