Mr. Herman Ray Holder of McCrory, departed this life on Saturday, April 2, 2016, at the age of 85. He was born November 17, 1930, in Overcup, Arkansas, the son of Fred and Minnia (Little) Holder.

Mr. Holder attended Beedeville High School. He had worked at Western Auto in Batesville and at Batesville High School. Mr. Holder loved playing music and singing with his band, Herman Holder and Country Rhythm Band. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed fishing and hunting. Mr. Holder enjoyed watching the Razorbacks and Swamp People. He loved spending time with his family most of all. He was a member of the Church of Christ in McCrory.

He is preceded in death by his parents; stepfather, Bill Lamkins; one stepson, Jimmy Emery; seven brothers, Fuzzy, Burl, Clifford, Claude, Henry, William and Tommy; four sisters, Minnie, Opal, Beatrice and Dora; two grandchildren, Christy Wilson and Shannon Wilson.

Mr. Holder is survived by his wife, Julie of McCrory; two daughters, Cathy Wilson (Danny) of Rosie and Penny Nolan of Batesville; one stepson, Edgar Emery of Searcy; three stepdaughters, Deborah Girtman (Gaylon) of Batesville, Lora Hall of McCrory and Patty Hatch (Paul) of McCrory. And many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Monday at Jackson’s Newport Funeral Home Chapel.

Interment will follow in Eight Mile Cemetery. Friends may visit at the funeral home Monday 1:00 until service time.

Those honored to serve as pallbearers: Neal Ballard, Steve Williams, Butch Williams, Caroll Williams, Dwight Burnett and Charles Jacobs. Honorary pallbearers: Jack Lamkins, Steve Lamkins and Paul Holder.
