Jo Ann Brown Coleman Bailey, 80, of Jonesboro departed this life on Thursday, February 27, 2020 in Jonesboro. She was born in Woodruff county on July 8, 1939 to the late Kenneth and Lydia Brown.
Jo Ann lived in Northeast Arkansas most of her life. She had a strong work ethic and picked cotton for many years as a child. Later she accepted a job in a shoe factory and worked many years as a waitress and cook. She was a great cook. She enjoyed helping her mother cook and bringing the family together. Jo Ann enjoyed talking with her childhood friends, doing jigsaw puzzles, and she loved country music.
She is survived by her son, David Lynn Coleman (Pam); daughter, Jodie Bailey Smalley; grandchildren, Davey Coleman, Danny Coleman, Jonna Coleman, and Dillon Smalley; great grandchild, Jorja Coleman; a sister, Connie Adams (James); three nephews; one niece; a great niece; and two great-great nieces and nephews; and a host of other relatives and friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Kenneth and Lydia Brown; three sons, John Mark Coleman, Kenny Coleman, and Benny Coleman; and two brothers, James Brown and Benny Brown.
Graveside services will be Thursday, March 5 at 2:00pm at Eight Mile Cemetery in Beedeville, Arkansas. Arrangements entrusted to Bradford Memorial Funeral Home, Bradford, Arkansas.
