M.Sgt. Leslie Wayne Beverly (USAF, ret.) 59, retired employee of First National Bank, died Saturday at Eaker Air Force Base Hospital in Blytheville after a long illness. He was a Baptist and a veteran of the Korean and Vietnam wars. Beverly, the husband of Patricia Faris Beverly, also leaves a daughter Tonie Payne of Blytheville, two sons Lester Beverly of Blytheville, and Jody Beverly of Lynchburg, VA. He also leaves four sisters, Elsie Helmick of Tamp, FL, Jane Hook of Elyria, OH, Sarah Holland of Cleveland, OH, and Edith Barker of Clarksburg, WV; two brothers James Beverly of Clarksburg, WV and Charles Beverly of New Port Richey, FL and four grandchildren

Patricia was born in Clarksburg, West Virginia to George and Helen Tenney Faris. She previously worked at the Dixie Pig, The Villa and Blytheville Country Club before retiring. Patricia enjoyed coloring and drawing. She was very good at sewing and knitting, and especially making dolls. Patricia was an excellent historian. She loved watching college football and working in her flower gardens.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Leslie Beverly; her parents; and son, Patrick Beverly.

Patricia leaves three children, Lester W. Beverly of Blytheville, Jody Beverly of Roanoke, Virginia and Tonie Sue Beverly of Jonesboro; two sisters, Eleanor Cox of Michigan and Katherine Pumphrey of West Virginia; her best friend, Bernie Weixelman of Blytheville; 10 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
