Mrs. Geneva (Dixson) Jackson, of Fisher, Arkansas departed this life on Tuesday, June 5, 2018, at the age of 91. She was born January 15, 1927, in Beedeville, Arkansas the daughter of Bill and Dora (Huckabee) Dixson.
Miss Geneva Dixon married Mr. Thilmore Jackson and together they enjoyed 69 years of marriage. They worked together as a team spending many long hard hours working on the farm, while raising their six children. She greatly enjoyed gardening, cooking and canning. She also loved raising the animals on the farm. Her greatest joy was time spent with her children and grandchildren. She was of the Pentecostal belief and loved music and loved to sing. This loving mother, grandmother, aunt, cousin and friend will be missed by all who knew her.
Mrs. Jackson was preceded in death by her husband, Thilmore; three sons, Marshall Thilmore Jackson, William Jackson and Charles Edward Jackson; one brother, O.E. Dixson; three sisters, Thelma Neldon, Marie Jackson and Nellie Mae Dixson; and her parents.
She is survived by one son, Leonard Jackson and special friend, Ann of Newport; two daughters, Juanita Smith and husband, Clarence Sr., of Fisher, Josie Gaskin and husband, Charles, of Fisher; fifteen grandchildren and thirty four great-grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, cousins and a lifetime of friends.
Friends may visit at the funeral home Friday, June 8, 2018, 2:00 p.m. to service time, with services following at 3:00 p.m. at Jackson’s Newport Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will be in Eight Mile Cemetery.
Those honored to serve as pallbearers are Clinton Smith, Wayne Jackson, Marshall Lynn Jackson, Bo Hicks, Jimmy McElyea, and Justin McElyea. Honorary Pallbearers are Winford Sanders, Donnie Dixson, Lonnie Dixson and Clarence Smith, Jr.
