Eileen Hagan O'Neal, 98, of the Huffman Community, Arkansas passed away Friday, Sept. 30, 2016, at her home.

Eileen was born to William "Eddie" and Mary Emma (Sweat) Hagan in Huffman, Arkansas.

She was the valedictorian of the first graduating class at Armorel. Eileen worked as Mississippi County collector for 51 years and was a member of the Arkansas Tax Collector Association. Eileen was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church where she was a member of the Alter Society. She was involved in numerous community organizations such as Kiwanis and Rotary clubs, Blytheville Women's Club, American Legion Auxiliary and the Charlevoix chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution. Eileen was also a supporter of the Mississippi County Arts Council. In her free time, she loved to paint, read and travel. Recently, Eileen established the Eileen O'Neal scholarship fund at Arkansas Northeastern College.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John W. O'Neal Jr.; her parents; and three sisters, Regina Wimberley, Nora Seibert and Genevieve Gunn.

Eileen leaves her sister, Geneva White of Campbell, Mo.; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial was held at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church with burial in Elmwood Cemetery. Rosary was held at Cobb Funeral Home
