Don Crawley, 91, of Maysville, Ark., died Wednesday, Sept. 14, 2016, in the comfort of his home after a lengthy illness.

He entered this life on Aug. 10, 1925, on the family farm near Maysville, one of three children born to the late William Clifford and Tena Toma Crawley.

He was a lifelong area resident and a 1943 graduate of Southwest City High School. He enlisted during WW-II in the United States Army Air Corps, performing 35 missions as an Aerial Tail Gunner with the 447th Bomb Group, 3rd Air Division, Eighth Air Force.

After being honorably discharged, he returned home to resume work on the family dairy and poultry farm. On Oct. 1, 1955, in Tulsa, Okla., he was united in marriage to Jewel Swart. To this union, three sons were born. He was a member and Elder of the Gravette Church of Christ and served on numerous state, county and national agricultural boards. He enjoyed daily life on the farm and was an avid Cardinals and Razorbacks fan.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and one brother, Max Crawley.

He is survived by his wife of nearly 61 years, Jewel Crawley of the home; three sons, Russell Crawley and wife Melinda of Maysville, Dennis Crawley and wife Ellen of Nixa, Mo., and Tim Crawley and wife Nikki of Maysville; nine grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; a sister, Muriel Ford and husband James of Grove, Okla; a sister-in-law, Mary Crawley of Hiwasse, Ark.; and a host of other family and friends.

Funeral services were Saturday, Sept, 17, 2016, at the Church of Christ in Gravette, Ark. Robert Lawson officiated.

Burial followed in the Maysville Cemetery in Maysville. Those honoring his life by serving as pallbearers were Jim Singleton, Jim Hollenback, Mike Ford, Richard Puryear, Mike Meek and Ozzie Rodgers.

The family received friends Friday evening in the Southwest City Chapel of the Ozark Funeral Homes.

Memorials are being directed to the Maysville Cemetery Care Fund or Hope Harbor Children's Home, and contributions may be left at the funeral home.

Jewel Dean Crawley, 87, of Maysville, Ark., died Sunday, Nov. 19, 2017, at Circle of Life Hospice in Bentonville, Ark., after a sudden illness. She was born on Dec. 2, 1929, in Mannford, Okla., to Albert Louis and Crochia Priscilla (Posten) Swart.

She was raised in Mannford and was a 1948 graduate of Olive High School in Olive, Okla. While working in Tulsa, Okla., at Rock Oil Company, she was introduced to Don Crawley and they were married on Oct. 1, 1955. For several years she worked alongside her husband operating their dairy and poultry farm. She was a member of the Church of Christ in Gravette, Ark., a former 4-H Leader and a member of the Maysville EH Club since 1955. She enjoyed time with her family and was an avid quilter.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of nearly 61 years, Don Crawley; two brothers, J.C. and Bill Swart; and two sisters, Imogene Kirkpatrick and Cora Lee Neiffer.

Survivors include three sons, Russell Crawley (Melinda) of Maysville, Ark., Dennis Crawley (Ellen) of Nixa, Mo. and Tim Crawley (Nicki) of Maysville; nine grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and a host of other family and friends.

Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 22, 2017, at the Church of Christ in Gravette with Robert Lawson and Bob Kirkley officiating. The family received friends on Tuesday evening from 5-7 p.m. in the Southwest City Chapel of the Ozark Funeral Homes.

Memorials are being directed to the Maysville EH Club in care of the funeral home.
