WEST SILOAM SPRINGS, Okla. — Thomas Powell "Tom" Allen, 89, died June 30, 2008. He was born in Cherokee to James Robert and Mamie Boyer Allen.
He attended Coates School in Spavinaw and attended Tulsa Center High School, graduating in 1936. He graduated from Tulsa Business College in 1937. He was an Army Air Corps veteran of World War II.
He managed a DX Service Station in Tulsa for 30 years. He was a member of the Oil Capitol Rod and Gun Club. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Mariam Marsh.
Survivors include his wife, Marie Elliott French Allen;a son-in-law, Ted Marsh of Tulsa; a grandson, Scott Marsh of Tulsa; a great-grandson, Collin Marsh of Tulsa; a brother, Sam B. Allen of Fort Smith.
Viewing will be from 1 to 6 p.m. Friday at Wasson Funeral Home in Siloam Springs, online at www.wassonfuneralhome.com.
A graveside service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Dickson Cemetery near Cherokee with Jim Whisenant officiating.
