When Fannie Mae Ashby/Burks was born on May 8, 1903, in Mississippi, her father, Olie, was 16, and her mother, Annie, was 19. She had four brothers and three sisters. She died on August 18, 1989, in Blytheville, Arkansas, at the age of 86, and was buried there.
