Hampton, Jan. 2 - J. B. Wood, 70 years old, a native of Calhoun county and for many years in the farming and mercantile business here, died at his home yesterday. Funeral services were held here today, burial being held in a cemetery near this city. Mr. Wood had spent his entire life in Calhoun county, and was one of the best known planters and merchants in this section of the state. He is survived by two brothers, George W. Wood of Harrell and B. H. Wood of Fordyce two sisters, Mrs. Tom W. Harrell of Harrell, and Mrs. Charles Abernathy of Oklahoma City, Okla.; three sons and three daughters, W. W. Wood of Bitter Creek, Wyo.' Mrs. Lucy Signet of Portland, Ore.; L. Roy Wood of Little Rock; Mrs. W. C. Dunn and Mrs. Ervin Abbott of Hampton, and N. W. Wood of Hampton.
