Lawrence Wilson Southard son of James Wilson Southard and Nancy Jane (Langston) Southard. Wilma K (Hively) Southard daughter of Thomas Franklin Hively and Nora Ann (Russell) Hively. Lawrence Wilson Southard and Wilma K (Hively) Southard were each born in Rodney, Izard County, Arkansas.

The White River Current, Calico Rock, Izard County, Arkansas, February 21, 2002:

Wilma K. Southard of Jordan, daughter of the late Thomas F. and Nora Ann Russell Hively was born September 6, 1916 at Rodney. She died on February 14, 2002 at Care Manor of Baxter County. She was 85.

A lifetime area native and homemaker, she married L. Wilson Southard on August 6, 1936 at Rodney. She was a member of the Rodney Cumberland Presbyterian Church, Rodney Fire Department Auxiliary and the Extension Homemakers.

She is survived by a half-brother, T. J. Hively of Batesville; three sisters, Eula Southard and Wileen Langston, both of Jordan; and Lillian Russell of Mountain Home; seven nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held February 17, 2002 at Roller Funeral Home Chapel in Mountain Home with Reverend Carl Cook officiating.

Interment was at the Wayland Arbor Cemetery in Dolph under the direction of Roller Funeral Home.

Memorials may be made to the Rodney Cumberland Presbyterian Church.
