When Leva Agnes McGee was born on November 20, 1916, in Prescott, Arkansas, her father, Samuel, was 26, and her mother, Beulah, was 24. She married Vernon Griffith Boyd on September 8, 1934, in Mississippi, Arkansas. They had two children during their marriage. She died on October 8, 1954, in Memphis, Tennessee, at the age of 37, and was buried in Blytheville, Arkansas.
