Mr. J.T. Barber, 81, of Lamar, passed away March 24, 2015 in Ft. Smith.
He was born September 2, 1933 in Annie’s Chapel, AR to John Taylor and Maggie May (Warren) Barber.
J.T. enjoyed being outdoors on his tractor, hunting and fishing. He loved his family, his pets, and his church. He always helped others and was a very caring person.
Mr. Barber is preceded in death by his wife, Wilma; parents; sisters, Flora Wilson, Mary Ellen Barber, Anna Freeman, Rosetta Barber; brother, Bill Barber.
He is survived by his daughter, Susan (Chip)and James Hurst of Ft. Smith; son, Mike Barber of Hagarville; sister, Wanda and Harold Crumrine of Lamar; grandchildren, Merissa and Kenny Mofield, Ryan and Jen Barber, Rebecca Hurst, Jamie and Greg Pair; great-grandchildren, Kinley, Lydia, Wyatt Pair, Julia Bridges, Keegan Barber.
Visitation will be 6:00-7:00p.m., Wednesday, March 25, 2015 at Roller-Cox Funeral Home Chapel.
Mr. Barber’s Funeral service will be held at 10:00a.m., Thursday, March 26, 2015 at Hagarville Church of Christ with Rev. James Hurst officiating.
Burial will follow in Hagarville Cemetery. Greg Freeman, John Colwell, Ronnie Crumrine, Jr., Don McCall, Gary Barber, Steve Blackard, Jeff Freeman, Matthew Freeman will be serving as Pallbearers. James Freeman, Vaughnon Freeman, Bobby Freeman, Pete Freeman and Charles Davis are Honorary Pallbearers.

Wilma Sue Barber was born January 3, 1939 in Sparda, Arkansas.
She was the daughter of L.B. and Edna Murel Patton Freeman.
She died Tuesday, March 16, 2010, at Johnson Regional Medical Center, Clarksville, Arkansas, at the age of 71.
She was a member of the Hagarville Church of Christ Church and a LPN Nurse.
She leaves behind her husband, J.T. Barber of Lamar, Arkansas; daughter, Susan "Chip" and husband, James Hurst of Farmington, Arkansas; son, Mike Barber of Harrsion, Arkansas; sisters, Weda Davis of Clarksville, Arkansas and Wanda Freeman of Hagarville, Arkansas; brother, Robert Freeman of Illinois; grandchildren, Merissa Bridges, Ryan and wife, Ashley Barber, Rebecca Hurst, Jamie and husband, Greg Pair; great-grand-children, Kinley, Lydia, Wyatt Pair, Julia Bridges, Keegan Barber.
Funeral service were held at Roller-Cox Funeral Home Chapel, Clarksville, Arkansas. Burial was in the Hagarville Cemetery, Hagarville, Arkansas. Reverend James Hurst officiating.
Pallbearers: John Colwell, Gary Don Barber, Don McCall, James Freeman, Ronnie Crumrine, Vaughnon Freeman.
Honorary Pallbearers: Charles Davis and Leland Freeman.
