William Howard Blackburn, 87, of West Helena, Arkansas passed away Thursday, October 20, 2011 at his home. Mr. Blackburn was born June 28, 1924 in Vina, Alabama to the late Charnel C. Blackburn and the late Clistie Holland Blackburn. He was a member of Harmony Missionary Baptist Church and he owned his own appliance service business.

He is survived by three sons, M.P. Blackburn (Brenda) of Benton, Arkansas, Winfred Lee Blackburn (Terri) of Hernando, Mississippi, and Arnold Keith Blackburn of Somerville, Tennessee; two daughters, Jean Rogers of West Helena, Arkansas and Louise Couch of Memphis, Tennessee; ten grandchildren, eighteen great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren; four sisters, Virlie Hardin (Chester) of Red Bay, Alabama, Mary Spencer of Vina, Alabama, Letha Beaty of Guntown, Mississippi, and Shirley Morrow of Golden, Mississippi; seven brothers, Gordon Blackburn (Lily) of Montgomery, Illinois, R.C. Blackburn (Esterene) of Vina, Alabama, V.C Blackburn of Aurora, Illinois, Freddie Blackburn (Sharon) of Red Bay, Alabama, J.C. Blackburn (Barabara) of Red Bay, Alabama, Marshall Blackburn (Janice) of Vina, Alabama, and Kyle Blackburn (Pat) of Vina, Alabama; and numerous other family members and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; first wife of 47 years, Artie V. Knight Blackburn; second wife, Mary Jane Brown Balckburn; son, Wilford Blackburn; and sisters, Elaterice Ponders and Anita Vagas.

Services for William H. Blackburn will be held at 2 p.m., Sunday, October 23, 2011 at Roller-Citizens. Visitation will be Saturday evening from 6-8 p.m. at Roller-Citizens. Burial will be at Sunset Memorial Park in West Helena, Arkansas. Reverend Jim Harrison will officiate.

Pallbearers are Brad Blackburn, Casey Blackburn, Lee Blackburn, John Dyes, Eric Leslie, Richard Leslie, Jr., Chad Blackburn and Lance Blackburn.

Services will be directed by Roller-Citizens Funeral Home, West Helena, (870) 572-2571.
