The White River Current, Calico Rock, Arkansas, May 29, 1980:

Laura E. Browning of Dolph, Ark., aged 67 died May 21, 1980 at Calico Rock Medical Center. She was a member of the Dolph Baptist Church and had lived in Izard County, since 1964.

Survivors include her husband, Orville Browning of Dolph; her mother Bertha Crenshaw of Texas; 7 sons, William G. Carson, Chester W. Carson and Nathan D. Browning all of Texas; Chester W. Carson and Orville Browning, Jr., both of Germany; Richard G. Browning of Scott, AFB; and Charles H. Browning of Fla., also one brother, one sister and 23 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.

Funeral was at Dolph Baptist Church on May 23rd. Burial was in Wayland Arbor Cemetery near Dolph with arrangements by Howard Funeral Home.

Pallbearers were: Kenneth Sanders, Terry Sanders, Joe Jennings, Elvis Williams, Denny Copeland, and Ronnie Dockins.

Note: Burial was in the Dolph Baptist Cemetery which is across the road from the Wayland Arbor Cemetery. Also note, that a family member pointed out that the obituary incorrectly listed son Chester W. Carson twice, but failed to list son James F. Carson. Some family members indicate that Mrs. Browning was born in Oregon, and some records do show Oregon as her birthplace. On
the other hand, other documents show that she was born in Texas including her listing in the 1920 Census when she was 7 years of age.
