Mr. Johnny Sanford, 97, of Bradford, AR., died Monday, January 2, 2012, at White County Medical Center, Searcy, Arkansas.

He was born February 27, 1914, in Bradford, AR.

Mr. Sanford was a member of Bradford Baptist Church. He volunteered for Meals on Wheels from 2002-2005.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Lillian (Lott) Sanford; his first wife, Nellie Ruth Wyatt Sanford; his second wife, Lois Anselmi Sanford; three brothers, Robbie, Joe and Frank Sanford; three sisters, Clara Long, Sallie Jackson, and Pauline Free.

Mr. Sanford leaves behind three sons, Verlan Sanford and wife Louise of Bradford, R.A. Sanford and wife Gwena of Bradford, and Arnold Sanford of Alexander; his third wife, Leythes Odom Sanford of Bradford; grandsons, Ken and Pat Sanford of Bradford, Tim and Paula Sanford of Bald Knob, Jeff and Marti Sanford of Bradford, Garrett and Cheryl Sanford of Batesville, and Alex Sanford of West Plains, MO; and granddaughter, Laura (Lori) Counts and Mike of Searcy; great grandchildren, Bradley Sanford of Bradford, Rachael Richardson of Kentucky, Denise Weber, Luke Counts of Searcy, Amanda Schumann of Bradford,, Tanya Sanford of Bald Knob, Braden Sanford and Mary Kathryn Sanford of Batesville; one great great-grand-daughter, Kaylee Schumann of Bradford, five step-sons, Steve Anselmi of Bald Knob, Dub Anselmi of Tennessee, Robert Odom of Texarkana, Tim Odom, and Tom Odom of Illinois; one step-daughter, Leonna McCoy of Bradford; and a host of friends.

Funeral services were held at Bradford Baptist Church with burial in Hickman Cemetery.
