Dbl stone w/Herbert Lee Mitchell
Tessie Mae Johnston Mitchell passed away Thursday, Feb. 28, 2008, at the age of 91 at Oakdale Nursing Home at Judsonia.
Mrs. Mitchell was born Sept. 21, 1916, at Quitman to Joe and Polly Jackson Johnston.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Herbert Lee Mitchell Sr.; one son, Herbert Mitchell Jr.; five brothers, Floyd, Thurman, Herbert, Andrew and Leroy Johnston; and one sister, Maude Mitchell.
Mrs. Mitchell is survived by three sons, Leroy Mitchell and wife Noma of Bradford, Larry Mitchell and wife Valery of Judsonia, Paul Mitchell and wife Linda of Searcy; three daughters, Gwena Sanford and husband R.A., Nina Mayhue and husband R.A., all of Bradford, and Cathy Blevins and husband Danny of Newark; one daughter-in-law; Shirley Mitchell of Velvet Ridge; one brother, D.L. Johnston of Quitman; one sister, Imodene Poyner of California; 22 grandchildren; 38 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and friends.
Visitation will be at Dillinger Funeral Home in Newport Sunday from 5-8 p.m.
Funeral services will be Monday at 2 p.m. in Dillinger Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in Hickmon Cemetery.
