Charles Everette Clanton, age 68 of Gravelridge, Arkansas died Monday, March 23, in Bradley County. Born July 23, 1940 at Johnsville, Arkansas. He was a son of Hollis Clanton, Johnsville, AR and the late Vada Harrod Clanton. He was a security officer for Kidwell Security, member Eagle Lake Crossroads Baptist Church, was football announcer for the Hermitage High School football team for 30 years, a former millwright, farmer, Bradley County deputy sheriff, attended Vick Public Schools and was a graduate of Hermitage High School.
Surviving in addition to his father is his wife Mary Ann Rauls Clanton whom he married December 16, 1988. 1 son Charles Darren Clanton, Bunkie, LA., 1 daughter Kaylon Taylor, Johnsville, AR., 1 step son Michael Belin, Smackover, AR., 1 step daughter Gina Hemphill, Warren, AR., 1 brother Randy Clanton, Ingalls, AR., 1 sister Marsha Quimby, Johnsville, AR. 7 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were 10:00 a.m. Thursday, March 26, at Frazer's Chapel, with Rev. Bob Lonadier, Rev. Eddie Douglas, and Rev. Wayman Mann officiating. Music was by Ronnie Bethea, Joe McClellan, Gina Hemphill, and Shawn Martin. Organist was Linda Barrett. Active pallbearers were Ronnie Bethea, Joe Owens, Randy Clanton Jr, Sam Clanton, Scotty Ferrell, Calvin Outlaw, Hugh Harrod, and Alex Troegel. Honorary pallbearers were Dr. Wharton, Heath Reep, Brad Harrod, Brent Harrod, Matt Harrod, Jeremy Groves, Shawn Martin, Jason Groves, Sonny Rainey, Bill Troegel, Pirtle Deer Camp, and Eagle Lake Crossroads Men Members and Prayer Breakfast Group. Burial was in Calvary Cemetery at Johnsville, AR by Frazer's Funeral Home. Memorials preferred Bradley County Medical Center Auxillary, Bradley County Medical Center Benevolent Fund or Bradley County Medical Center Foundation.
