John Pearson Martin was born on November 3, 1879, in Michigan City, Mississippi. He married Elizabeth V. "Bessie" JOHNSON on October 15, 1902. They had six children in 19 years. He died on February 1, 1963, in Memphis, Tennessee, at the age of 83.
