DUTCH MILLS — Carl Thomas Whitaker, 82, of Dutch Mills died June 26, 2006, at Fayetteville. He was born March 20, 1924, in Dutch Mills to William Torn and Katherine Wall Whitaker.

He was a member of Liberty Baptist Church in Dutch Mills. He was a fourth-generation Whitaker to live and work on the family farm. He was a longtime board member of the Dutch Mills Cemetery Association.

Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Helen Smith Whitaker of the home; three daughters, Carolyn Umberson and husband Donald of Cane Hill, Linda Walker and husband Lonnie of Springdale and Diane Flynt and husband Curt of Clever, Mo.; one brother, James W. Whitaker of Newark, Calif; two sisters, Nadene O'Neal of El Dorado Springs, Mo., and Doris Barton of Gainesville, Texas; seven grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Liberty Baptist Church in Dutch Mills with Frank Thurman officiating. Burial will follow in Dutch Mills Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Dutch Mills Cemetery Association, P.O. Box 849, Lincoln, 72744.

DUTCH MILLS — Helen Frances Whitaker, age 90, a resident of Dutch Mills, Ark., went to be with her Lord on Wednesday, Feb. 13, 2019, at The Maples of HarBer Meadows in Springdale, Ark. She was born May 12, 1928, in Lincoln, Ark., the daughter of Leonard and Florence (Richmond) Smith.

Helen was a member of the Liberty Baptist Church since 1961 and a longtime resident of Dutch Mills, Ark.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Carl Whitaker; her parents; and one sister, Peggy Rhea.

Survivors include three daughters, Carolyn Umberson and her husband Donald of Morrow, Ark., Linda Walker and her husband Lonnie of Springdale, Ark., and Diane Flynt and her husband Curtis of Clever, Mo.; one brother, Eugene Smith and wife Marcia of Greenbay, Wis.; one brother-in-law Don Rhea of Pinion Hills, Calif.; seven grandchildren, Bobby Umberson, Traci Nelson, Shannan Cox, Tina Longshore, Stephanie White, Jason Umberson, and Ashley Moore; 11 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild; numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends Saturday, Feb. 16, 2019, 10-11 a.m. at the Liberty Baptist Church with funeral service to follow at 11 a.m. Burial will be in the Dutch Mills Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Mikel Cox, Logan Umberson, Cole Umberson, Rylee White, Braden Umberson, Austin White, Jaret Nelson, and Gavin Moore. Honorary pallbearer, Carson Umberson.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Dutch Mills Cemetery Association at any Simmons Bank.
