David (Butch) McCormick, 67, of Newport departed this life Monday, October 1, 2018. He was born in Newport on October 24, 1950 to Dave McCormick and Dora Schales. He attended the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah Witness in Newport and enjoyed riding his moped, talking on the phone, watching Star Trek, Lost in Space, and the Twilight Zone.
He was preceded in death by his parents; Dave McCormick and Dora Schales and his grandmother; Zelma Arnold.
Butch is survived by one brother; Tommy Gene Schales of Reno, three sisters; Judy Ann Brimer of Newport, Patsy Gale Tims of Jonesboro, Debbie Sue Barnes of Bradford, nieces; Judena Gonzalez of Jonesboro, Connie Baker of Lake City, Tina Greer of Horseshoe Bend, Pennie Cotty of Trumann, nephews; George Allen Barnes of Bradford, Adam Barnes of Checotah, Ok., Michael Schales of Batesville, Scottie Schales of Batesville and many great nieces and nephews.
Funeral service will be 10:00 Thursday, October 4, 2018 at Dillinger Funeral Home Chapel with burial in Oakland Hill Cemetery.
Visitation will be 6:00 till 8:00 Wednesday, October 3, 2018 at the funeral home.
